It’s just under two weeks until our annual event Communication Works South (#CW2025 #GetSeen). We have a great day planned, celebrating assistive technology in education. This is a great opportunity for the SEND community to come together to celebrate the achievements of the children and young people we support with their access to the curriculum and communication.

Time: 9.15am to 4.00pm (BST)
Venue: Charlton Athletic Football Club, North Stand, The Valley, Floyd Road, London SE7 8BL
We can’t wait to welcome you for a great day!
Doors open at 9.15am and our keynote speeches will start promptly at 10.00am.
Our programme of seminars will begin at 10.45am and continue throughout the day until 4.00pm.
Keynote Speaker
Abdi Omar, Founder & CEO of The Limitless Minds Group
Abdi is a passionate advocate for disability rights. He is dedicated to sparking conversations and breaking down barriers faced by disabled individuals on a daily basis. He is a motivational speaker, an AAC Specialist and SEND Mentor and Trainer.
Abdi has Cerebral Palsy and uses power based AAC to deliver his inspirational talks. Despite the communication challenges he faces, this has not prevented him from having a voice. Abdi has been instrumental in a pilot project of Proloquo Classroom at Charlton Park Academy and has supported many children and young people across Greater London to develop their communication skills via their communication devices. The positive impact he has had on the children and young people he supports has been truly amazing to witness. Abdi wants to enable the children and young people he supports and mentors to #GetSeen.

MC & Keynote Speaker
Khamani Edwards, Award-winning Entrepreneur and CEO of KJ’s Craft Time
Khamani has been a CENMAC student ambassador for a number of years. We have watched Khamani flourish during his education journey. He is currently studying Film & TV at college as well as running his own business KJ’s Craft at the same time.
Born with Dystonia, a neurological condition that affects his mobility and causes involuntary tremors, Khamani understands the challenges of limited dexterity firsthand. This inspired him to create a new Special Educational Needs (SEN) Range within KJ’s Craft Time, featuring adaptive tools like easy-grip scissors and non-spill paint pots to make crafting accessible to children of all abilities.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Khamani is a passionate advocate for assistive technology. As an ambassador for CENMAC, he raises awareness about its impact and has been MC at Communication Works for the past 3 years.
