Yesterday we were thrilled to have a number of parents join our training on the use of Proloquo communication app at home. It was wonderful to have Abdi Omar join the training to give his experiences of learning AAC as a child and the importance of providing as many opportunities for communication as possible. We shared ideas for developing communication at home and look forward to hearing how our parents enjoy using the app with their child over the holidays.

It’s not long until we break up for the Christmas holidays. While it is a fun time of year, it can also be a challenging time for children and young people with special needs when their routines are interrupted.
CENMAC Specialist Teaching Assistant Claire Hennings has put together some visual symbols to help your child know what is happening during the holiday period and reduce some anxieties including this Christmas time social story.
