We often get questions from parents and carers about some of the resources and tools we use to support children and young people. We use the following resources regularly and the great thing about them is they are free and easy-to-use.
When a child or young person’s family feels confident using the technology as well it can feel a little less daunting.

Resources to support learning to type
Why learn to touch type?
- Touch typing becomes automatic, frees up working memory for thinking, spelling, and organising ideas rather than searching for keys.
- It builds speed and fluency, helping pupils get thoughts down before they forget them or become distracted.
- It creates consistent motor patterns (muscle memory,) and reduces cognitive load that can make writing exhausting.

Text Type
These touch typing games will take learners from the home keys to mastery of the whole keyboard and typing sentences. Each activity has a range of accessibility options.
