How 2econd Chance transforms lives through digital technology
Recorded: Thursday 1st February 2024
In this information session find out how 2econd Chance uses donated devices (including laptops, desktops and tablets up to 8 years old) to provide IT refurbishment training to people with disabilities.
Every trainee learns how to independently refurbish a machine including how to wipe data, physically destroy hard drives partition disks and replace RAM hard drives.
Once refurbished 1 in 4 of the devices are donated to those in need whilst others are sold at affordable prices.
This session is suitable for school SEND teams who might consider the training as an option for students following school. The session would also be suitable for assistive technology companies who might like to consider donating desktop computers, laptops and phones up to 6 years old that are no longer in use.
