Thursday Thirty Online Training – Spring term 2023

About Thursday Thirty Online free online training

We run 30-minute online training sessions on Thursday afternoons throughout the school term from 15.30 to 16.00 (GMT).

Why do we run Thursday Thirty Online training sessions?

These sessions provide a brief introduction to some of the assistive technologies we use to help children and young people access the curriculum and/or to communicate. They also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about using the technology.

Matching the technology to the individual

Following our assessments, we match the assistive technology to meet the needs of each individual child or young person. The technology that suits one child or young person might not be suitable for another, so it is important that we have a wide range of technologies to choose from.

The importance of using the technology

The more easy-to-use, children and young people find using the technology, the more likely they are to use it. The more they use it, the more confident they will become. If the child or young person does not feel confident with the technology, there is a possibility that they might abandon the device.

It is very important that their support network including their SENCO, TA, teacher as well as their parent or carer also feels confident showing the child or young person how to use it.

Of course, the CENMAC team is here to help and can provide extra training as required. Contact us at mail@cenmac.com if you have any questions.

Who should attend?

The child or young person’s support network should attend the relevant sessions. This includes the school SEND team (SENCO, SLT, OT), teachers, TAs, parents and carers and assistive technology users.
